Entrepreneurship in the United States of America is alive and well, but things have changed quite a bit over the last few decades. Many entrepreneurs start out in their garage with projects and inventions and eventually take over the garage is part of their business.

In the past I had always had great ideas and then one day someone mentioned that they had an original thought that no one had ever thought of before. I thought that was interesting because I always assumed that I had many original thoughts. He said that most likely that is not true although you might have had a few. I disagreed with him at first because I believe over my lifetime I have had many many original thoughts; 100s if not 1000s.

Most people think that innovation is always free flowing and if you force the process you destroy creativity. In other words if you stress out over performance and deadlines you cannot remain creative. I completely disagree in that they also say that necessity is the Mother of Invention.

Do you know how to innovate? Well it is not a secret really it merely takes a little out of the box thinking and therefore let me discuss a little theory and philosophy behind it. You see in most industries everyone is doing everything basically the same way.

Humans are all somewhat capable of becoming great innovators. That is to say figuring out a way to do something once they intend to do it. Every person is born with this innovative spirit, sure some more than others, I am certain I got some innovator genes along the way. But even if you did not get an extra dose of innovator genes with a little work you can become a world-class innovator too.
