Ever have the feeling like your life is spinning faster and faster to the point that it is almost out of control?
Your 'To Do' list is so long you’ve taken to recording it on a full roll of toilet paper?
You spend so much busy time away from friends and family you begin to think you don’t have any?
Or perhaps the opposite is true for you and your 'To Do' list includes nothing more than reading the TV guide as you vegetate mindlessly night after night staring vacantly towards flickering images passing themselves off as something worthy of your undivided attention on a television screen.
In both cases, a long overdue redesign from the inside out is likely in order.

Your ‘To Do’ list is so long you’ve taken to recording it on a full roll of toilet paper?
You spend so much busy time away from friends and family you begin to think you don’t have any?
Or perhaps the opposite is true for you and your “To Do’ list includes nothing more than reading the TV guide as you vegetate mindlessly night after night staring vacantly towards flickering images passing themselves off as something worthy of your undivided attention on a television screen.
In both cases, a long overdue redesign from the inside out is likely in order.
Why a redesign? Life is meant to be lived, fully alive, with joy in the living, that’s why. If you are so busy multi tasking and always working late to meet an endless cycle of deadlines of one project after another, or falling asleep every night in front of television set, you’re missing out on the joy of life and maybe even the reason, or your purpose, for being here in the first place.
While we all go through many stages in life that include learning, growing and doing, with some periods of our lives much busier than others, if you can’t remember the last time you felt true joy in just being you and looking forward to getting up in the morning, it is time to redesign your life from the inside out.
Why from the inside out, rather than the outside in?
You’re already allowing the outside world to dictate or influence how you live and that’s why you’re not experiencing the joy of living by your own light. It’s time to listen to the inside (you) and determine what really makes you happy. This is the key to finding the missing joy in your life. You can then begin to redesign your life to incorporate that which has the most meaning for you.
Here are a few tips to consider when redesigning your life from the inside out:
Start with the end in mind. What do you most want to be remembered for? Write your own eulogy. If you were quietly sitting in the back row, unnoticed at your own funeral, what would you want said about you and the life you lived?
What are you most proud of at this point in your life? What do you want to accomplish in your lifetime?
What do you most love doing that you never seem to have enough time to do more of?
If money or circumstance were not a factor, how would you choose to spend your time?
What changes would you like to see happen in the world, and what action steps can you take to make a difference towards that change?
Think about the big picture of your life. What are your true values and priorities and are your daily actions in alignment with the big picture of who you really are? Are the daily, moment to moment decisions you make enhancing or detracting from the big picture of your life?
You are the star and the director of the movie of your life!
If you’re not happy with main character or the plot, and the scenes are running too fast (or too slow), cut and redesign your life from the inside out until your star shines brightly and you become your own hero in the most fascinating movie ever, your life.
