Once again the Middle East is erupting into a big conflict with Israel at the center piece of this fight to the death struggle. In times past the Palestinians, Jordanians, Syrians, and Egyptians have caused the most trouble for Israel, but now it appears that guerilla groups backed by Syria and Iran are the culprit. Same struggle, different war?

Is This War?

It can be hard to differentiate between full blown war and the constant day-to-day shelling experienced between nations in the Middle East, particularly those operations involving the State of Israel. Yet, this latest conflagration appears to be a full blown war as Israel seeks to retrieve two kidnapped military personnel who were apprehended by Hezbollah guerrilla members just a few days ago.

Israel has responded by attacking Lebanon, the seat of guerilla activity, and has shut down one airport. As of this writing, the Israelis are blocking Lebanon's ports in a bid to stem the flow of Hezbollah weapons which eventually flow to the Palestine territories another thorn in the Jewish state's side. This battle has a familiar theme with it: the Arabs against the Jews. Like so many Middle East wars, Israel is the target of destruction.

Certainly, the world community will jump on Israel, but that is to be expected. In the Book of Revelation, Israel is totally rejected by the world community and surrounded by her enemies. Ultimately, Israel cries out to God for help and His response is what many know as the cumulation of all things leading to the end of history as we know it. Are we there yet? Only God knows...literally!
